Emergency water
These are the calls that come in with water still moving. The first visit is about stopping the source, getting standing water out and setting drying before it soaks into framing. Where to start
Which of these do I actually need?
Most calls fit more than one page. A burst pipe in January is an emergency, a drying job and often a drywall repair. Start with what you are looking at right now; we will tell you on the phone which parts of the job follow.
Two things change everything else: whether the water is clean or contaminated, and how long it has been sitting. If you can tell us those, we can usually tell you what will need to come out before we arrive.
| What you are seeing | Start here |
|---|---|
| Water is still running or spreading | Emergency Water Damage Restoration |
| Carpet is soaked but the leak is stopped | Carpet Water Damage |
| Ceiling stain under the eaves in winter | Ice Dam Water Damage |
| Water in the basement after a thaw | Basement Flooding Cleanup |
| Musty smell with no visible water | Water Damage Inspection |
| Something backed up from a drain | Sewage Backup Cleanup |
| After a small fire or smoke in the house | Smoke Damage Cleanup |
| Walls are open and the house reads dry | Water Damage Reconstruction |
One file, start to finish
Why one company for the drying and the rebuild
Water jobs go wrong in the gap between cleanup and repair: a wall closed before the cavity was dry, a floor laid over a damp subfloor, a missing photo the adjuster needed. Keeping both halves on one file closes that gap. The readings that tell us a room is dry are the same readings that release it for rebuild.
It also means one phone number for the whole job. You call the same line on the first night and on the day the painters finish, and anyone who picks up can see where your job stands.
